Dress Code

This Dress Code was developed and implemented to meet several individual and school needs including: the need to uphold a healthy self-image, a sense of modesty and rules of etiquette. Clothes should be clean, neat, and worn according to the way the apparel was designed to be worn and must be of a style that is not offensive to fellow students and staff.

Inappropriate pictures, words, symbols etc. will not be allowed. Hats and coats are to be left in lockers/classrooms and are not to be worn in the school. As well, in keeping with our focus of healthy lifestyles, clothes depicting tobacco, drug paraphernalia or alcohol products are not to be worn. For the older students in the Junior and Intermediate grades (Gr 4 - 8), short shorts, bare midriffs, bare shoulders, halter tops, spaghetti strap tops, or clothing which is revealing are not acceptable.

Students who come to school wearing unacceptable clothing will not be permitted to attend class. A phone call will be made in an effort to obtain suitable clothing if alternate arrangements cannot be made at the school level. Administration will make final decisions regarding appropriate dress.
