Attendance is Important!
Attendance is a crucial first step for the success of our students! If a child is not at school, they cannot learn.
Obviously there are times when a child may need to stay home, so please keep your child at home if he or she has a fever, is vomiting or has diarrhea, or has anything else that is contagious (strep throat, etc.). Otherwise, it is important that children come to school, on time, each day, ready to learn!
Try to attend every day in September! |
Students who miss fewer than 2 days in September, continued to average less than 2 days per month for the remainder of the school year |
Regularly missing 2 days per month has negative repercussions |
Students who are absent 10% of each school year (2 days each month) from JK to Grade 8, will have missed one full year of classroom instruction! |
Every day matters! |
A student who is absent 1 day per week will be absent 40 days (22%) of the school year |
